The perimeter of a square is 4s where s is the length of the side.

This can be represented like a function notation such as P(s) = 4s.

So, when the side length is x inches the perimeter will be 4x.

So, P(x) = 4x

When x = 9.1 then P(9.1) = 4 \times 9.1 = 36.4 inches.

It tells that the perimeter is four times the side length.
