Step 1: Read the question and understand the given information.

GIVEN:  A bag has only lemon flavoured candies.

Malini takes out one candy without looking

Step 2: Calculate the probability of an orange flavored candy.

      (i) NOTE: The bag contains only lemon flavoured candy. It does not contain any

                      orange flavoured candy

Thus any candy taken about would a lemon candy only.

The probability of taking out orange candy is 0

We call this type of events as "impossible events"

                                        or

Number of favorable conditions = 0

Total number of candies  = x say

Then, the probability that she takes out an orange candy = \frac{x}{0} = 0

Step 2: Determine the probability of a lemon flavored candy

(ii)  The bag has only lemon flavoured candies

So, she will certainly takes lemon candy.

Let say we have x number of lemon candies in the bag

Number of favorable conditions = x

Total number of candies  = x say

Then, the probability that she takes out a lemon candy = \frac{x}{x} = 1

This even we call "sure event".
