Step 1:  See the given figure and analyse the given information

            GIVEN:  A game of chance spinning an arrow,which come to rest pointing

            any of the number 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8

              So, total number of outcomes = 8

Step 2:  Determine the probability that it(arrow) will point at "8"

            Favourable outcomes of getting 8 = 1

              The probability of  pointing 8 = \frac{\text{Favourable outcome}}{\text{total outcomes}}

                                                            = \frac{1}{8}

Step 3: Find the probability that it will point at an odd number

              List out the odd number = {1, 3, 5, 7}

              Favourable outcomes of  pointing an odd number = 4

             The probability that arrow will point at an odd number = \frac{\text{Favourable outcome}}{\text{total outcomes}}

                                                                                                  =   \frac{4}{8}
