It depends on your requirements. Though master bathrooms with tubs might give a good resell value for a house, having a tub compulsorily isn't a trend right now, afaik.
Instead, a having a walk-in shower might save you some time while bathing also might avoid some tub slippery accidents. Tubs need careful attention while using also while maintaining. That being said, if you have more space, budget and young people using it, you can choose a tub instead of a shower. Of course, you can always have both.
