Draw a line segment of length 7.6 cm and divide it in the ratio 5:8.measure the two parts?

Step 1: Draw a line segment
EXAMPLE: AB = 7.6 cm.
Step 2: Draw a ray (AX) which makes an acute angle with line segment (AB).
Step 3: With ‘A’ as centre and with any length draw an arc on ray AX and
label the point A_1
Step 4: Using the same compass setting and with A_1 as centre draw another arc and locate A_2.
NOTE: Like this locate 13 points (m + n) = (5 + 8)
A_1,\ \ A_2,\ \ A_3,\ \ A_{4..............}A_{13} such that AA_1\ =A_1A_2=A_2A_3=\ A_3A_4.................................A_{12}A_{13}
Step 5: Join A13 to B.
NOTE: See the figure in step 6
Step 6: Through the point A_5, draw a line A_5C || A_13B; which intersects AB at point C.
NOTE: We get; AC : CB = 5 : 8
AC = 2.92 cm and CB = 4.68 cm
