Step 1:  Calculate the base and height lengths of the triangle

NOTE: Use the distance formula to calculate lengths.

Step  2:  Set up an area formula of the triangle.

FORMULA: Area of the right angle triangle = \frac{1}{2} base * height

Step 3: Substitute the either values (base and height lengths) in the area formula

               EXAMPLE: \frac{1}{2} (12 * 20)

Step 4: Simplify further

              NOTE: Apply the BODMAS rules

             EXAMPLE:  = \frac{1}{2}\left(12*20\right)

                                 = 12 * 10

                                 = 10
