STEP 1: Recall the equation of line in slope-intercept form. Equation is y = mx+ b

STEP 2: Plug in the value of m (slope), x and y which is given into the equation to find the value of b

STEP 3:: You can write the equation once you do this.

Example:

Find the equation of the line with slope -2/3 and passing through the point (3,4)

m = -2/3, x = 3 and y = 4

Plug these in y = mx +b to find the value of b

4 = \frac{-2}{3} \times 3 + b

b = 4 + 2 = 6

So the equation of the line will be y = 3x + 6

Please get back to me if this is unclear.
