STEP 1:  Recall what the terms consistent and dependent, consistent and independent or inconsistent mean

https://www.ck12.org/algebra/consistent-and-inconsistent-linear-systems/lesson/Consistent-and-Inconsistent-Linear-Systems-ALG-I/

STEP 2: Recall how to graph the system of equations on the same axis.

https://www.qalaxia.com/viewDiscussion?messageId=5cc3eb704c17732f38d1f80f

Graph y = 4x + 2

Plot the x and the y-intercepts

Plot (\frac{-1}{2},0) and (0,2)

STEP 3: Graph y = 4 x

Plot the x and the y-intercepts

Plot the point (0,0) which is nothing but the origin and draw a line through it

Since both the lines are parallel, this means the system of equations is inconsistent.
