These are the set of equations

2x - y = 16  \rightarrow equation 1

x + 2y = 8    \rightarrow equation 2

The coefficients of both the x-variables and  the coefficients of both the y-variables are different. The coefficient of the x-variable in the equation 1 is 2, and the coefficient for the y variable in the equation 1 is -1. The coefficient of the x-variable in the equation 2 is 1, and the coefficient of the y-variable in the equation 2 is 2.

The constant ( the number without a variable ) can be the same or different.

Such system of equations have only one solution to them.
