I know there is some dimensional analysis involved, but I am just not sure where to start or how to do it in this particular conversion?

edit: here is the actual question: Did any of the measurements exceed the National Ambient Air Quality Standard for ozone for 1-hour exposure?  For 8 hour exposure?

Here is what I have as my answer so far: According to the EPA website, the standard for 1-hour exposure of ozone is 0.12 ppm, and the standard for 8-hour exposure is 0.070 ppm.

here is the data table needed for the conversions:

Take a look at the following link for converting g/m^3 to ppm.

https://www.lenntech.com/calculators/ppm/converter-parts-per-million.htm

To be able to use this, we need the molecular weight of ozone. Googling for molecular weight of ozone, we get 48g/mol (simply search for "molecular weight of ozone").

Let's calculate what 1ppm of ozone is in mg/m^3 . Using the formula on the site

Where:

Vm =standard molar volume of ideal gas (at 1 bar and 273.15 K) = 22.71108 L/mol

M = molecular weight of ozone = 48 g/mol

Note that the site has a typo. It should actually be 1ppm = \frac{M}{V_m} \frac{1 \mu g \ gas }{1 L \ air} .

Therefore, 1ppm = 48/22.711 \mu g / L = 2.11 \mu g / L = 2.11 mg/m^3 .

Note that 1m^3 = 1000L. Therefore, \mu g / L = mg /m^3 .

Therefore, 0.12 ppm = 2.11 \times 0.12 mg / m^3 = 0.24 mg/m^3 .
