#### One and a half chickens lay one and a half eggs in one and a half day. How many chickens are needed to provide 24 eggs in 12 days?

It's a interesting question and I wanted to see how people approached this.

One and a half chickens and one and a half eggs don't make sense. However, lets take the question at face value.

1.5 chickens produce 1.5 eggs in 1.5 days. We want to know how many chickens produce 24 eggs in 12 days.

My approach is to get the number of chickens that produces the same ratio of eggs/days.

Lets double the number of chickens.

3 chickens produce 3 eggs in 1.5 days. (Each set of 1.5 chickens produces 1.5 eggs each; for a total of 3 eggs).

3 chickens produce 6 eggs in 3 days (Double the number of days, the number of eggs doubles).

3 chickens produce 12 eggs in 6 days; and

3 chickens produce 24 eggs in 12 days

My approach was to find the number of chickens that produced the same eggs/days ratio.
