STEP 1: Recall what is a radical expression

STEP 2: Recall what are prime factors of a number

https://www.mathsisfun.com/definitions/prime-factor.html

STEP 3: Recall how to find prime factorisation of a number

STEP 4: Recall the law of exponents

https://www.mathsisfun.com/algebra/exponent-laws.html

STEP 5: Simplify the radical expression

\sqrt{252}

= \sqrt{2\times 2\times 3\times 3\times 7}

Using the law of exponents 2^{1}\times2^{1} = 2^{2} = 4 (when the bases are the same the powers can be added)

= \sqrt{4.9.7}

={2.3}\sqrt{7}

=6\sqrt{7}
