Step 1: Find the x- and the y-intercepts in the first equation

Plug in x = 0 to get y = 1 and

Plug in y = 0 to get x = -1

Step 2: Plot the set of points on the coordinate axis

Plot (0,1) and (-1,0) on the coordinate axis and join the points to get a straight line

Step 3: Find the x and the y-intercepts of the second equation

Plug in x = 0 to get y = 0

Step 4: Plot the set of points (0,0) on the coordinate axis

Step 5: The lines intersect at (-0.5,0.5)

(-0.5,0.5) is the solution to the set of lines.
