First arrange the numbers in order: 2, 5, 6, 8, 10, 11, 15, 15, 16, 17, 20, 25

This list can be split up into four equal groups of three:

Therefore:

Q1 is the mean of 6 and 8 = (6 + 8) ÷ 2 = 7

Q2 is the mean of 11 and 15 = (11 + 15) ÷ 2 = 13

Q3 is the mean of 16 and 17 = (16 + 17) ÷ 2 = 16.5
