What happens to the speed of an AC generator when we connect it to a light bulb?
It should reduce but by how much?
It should reduce but by how much?
The speed of an AC generator due to loading depends on two factors:-
1) The size of the generator in terms of KW output.
2) The size of the load being connected to the generator also in terms of KW or W.
In general, a generator ranges from as small as a few KWs to as large as MW. The light bulb will generally be 100W to may be maximum of 1000W(1KW) if it is an incandescent bulb.In such a situation, connecting a single light bulb to the AC generator will not have any impact on its speed.
