What if we never had a ocean?

That's difficult to answer since it requires a lot of speculation about what happened on Earth long before people existed. However, it seems that the earliest life on Earth may have developed in tidal pools, which occur on the shores of oceans. So, without oceans, there may not have been life on Earth, or it may have developed differently.
