Such questions are hard to answer. The best job is something that you are good at and are excited about. A person is usually good at one thing. For a person to be really good at two completely different skill sets is very very rare, so such dilemmas usually do not arise.

Let's say you are good at both being a surgeon and playing soccer. Let's weigh the pros and cons.

  1. Celebrity status - if you are excited about being a celebrity then being a soccer player is definitely the way to go.
  2. Helping save lives - if you are excited about saving lives then being a surgeon is definitely the way to go.
  3. Comforts - both jobs offer sufficient comfort to lead a life without worrying about basic necessities even allowing you to indulge in luxuries
  4. Bringing joy to others - Both jobs give you an opportunity to bring joy to others
  5. Ability to handle gore - If you cannot handle gore, surgery is not for you
  6. Ability to handle risk - if you cannot handle risk, soccer is not for you. There is a high risk that you will end your career due to injury

That said, good luck with the choice that you make.

Doing what makes you happier is important. Your job should define your talent, creativity and not confine you. Money should always be secondary, unless ofcourse you have financial troubles.Ironically, both pay well!
