In Class, my teacher explained to me that many people were angry with Lincoln’s presidential decisions but she never explained which decisions in particular. Could you provide some decisions which led to Lincoln’s death?

A member of a famous acting family, John Wilkes Booth enjoyed a phenomenally successful stage career during the Civil War. Through his acting, he had earned a good $20,000 a year, at a time when the average Northern family earned around $300 annually. However, Booth was an open Confederate sympathizer during the war, and a big supporter of slavery. Booth believed that Lincoln was going to overthrow the south, as Lincoln hated the concept of slavery. In his wanting to protect his beloved south, he created a plan to assassinate Abraham Lincoln.
