Assuming that you are asking about division by negative numbers, lets take a simple example.


We know that 3 < 5.


Which of the following is true:

A) -3 < -5? or

B) -3 > -5?


B is true, right.


Given that 3 < 5, if I want to multiply both sides by -1; what should happen to the sign? Shouldn't the sign change based on the above example.
