The Vietnam war was so devastating for the U.S and Its Army because it was costing the United States a lot of money. The money loss came from war efforts, and military expenses, as many people were evading the military draft, as they did not want to go to war. The reason for that was because in that decade, people were turning anti-war, especially since the Vietnam war was the first televised war, so many people learned how really cruel war is. Each year, the number of Americans being anti-war increased, having no choice but pressure to let North Vietnam take the south. The United States had no clear choice to abolish the draft.
